© Gwynmardene Kennels 2011 Firstly let me introduce myself. I am Gwynlais Phillips. Along with my wife, Mary and daughters Angharad  and Buddug we run Gwynmardene Kennels from our home in Llanboidy, West Wales. Our affix  (Gwynmardene) is made up of both our names Gwyn and Mar with dene added on.   We were married in 1973 and moved to where we are now. We lived in a caravan for 18 months while our  bungalow was being built. Late 1973 we bought a block 8 of portable wooden kennels and runs, and that  is how we started. I was a builder by trade, and in 1978 I started building my own block of kennels, which  are all cavity wall, insulated, heated and air conditioned with mainly covered yards.  Breeding dogs had been in both our parents families for approximately 20 years, with my parents  breeding German Shepherds and Pembrokeshire Corgis and Mary’s parents breeding West Highland  Terriers. In 1974 we started breeding Cocker Spaniels, and over the next ten years we introduced other  breeds. Cavalier King Charles, Shih-tzu’s,  Bichon Frise and Miniature Poodles and then  German Shepherds from my parents in the late  eighties when they retired.  Both our daughters work at home,  Angharad  has her own breed of  West Highland Terriers  passed on by Mary’s  parents. Buddug is the  one who answers the phone, looks after the  day to day care of the bungalow, preparing  food  for us all, while Mary spends most of her  time in the Kennels. She is also very good at  entertaining our customers. We are dedicated  in producing healthy, happy, loving family pets.   Our puppies are well handled and socialised,  with both parents here for viewing and  handling on most litters of pups. New owners  will be asked to sign a contract to have their  new puppy health checked by their own Vet.  All puppies are Kennel Club registered where  relevant,  health checked by Market Hall Veterinary Group, Vaccinated, microchipped, insured with Pet  Plan for 4 weeks and are wormed every two weeks from birth. All puppies and treated with Stronghold for  fleas and ear mites. When you contact us, our wealth of experience will guide you to the breed of puppy  would most suit yourselves, unless you already know.ed of puppy would most suit yourselves, unless you  already know.  A few words from Gwynlais...
